How cancer saved my life…
Although I haven’t been diagnosed with cancer, my mothers cancer helped change the trajectory of my life in a BIG way.
I was headed down a path of drug addiction and unhealthy habits.
I lost both my mother and grandmother to breast cancer in my early 20s.
They missed my wedding and other important days I always thought they’d be there for.
By turning my pain into purpose, I did the scary work of identifying my genetic risks for cancer and was told that I am high risk for developing breast cancer at some point in my life.
This news changed my path forever
I made it my number one priority to have more love and compassion for my body. To do everything possible to honor my body with whole foods, lots of water, and movement. I did a lot of therapy, self development and put in a whole lot of mindset work.
I now honor my mother and grandmother by helping families and young women navigate their loved one’s cancer diagnosis through self love, nutrition, and movement.
When Jess from My Cancer Story Podcast asked me to come on and share my story with other women out there who may be watching their mother fight cancer, I knew I had to say yes!
I think it’s really important to recognize that cancer affects everyone. Even if you haven’t been diagnosed with cancer, but have a loved one who has, you’re seeing its wrath on their life every day. This process can have tremendous trauma on your mind and body. While it’s not a club you want to be in, there are a lot of us in it.
