Remember, we’re in this together!

Humans have never been this connected as a collective.
This is a unique and rare experience.

However you’re feeling these days, it’s completely valid.

Tips for staying WELL, HEALTHY, + SANE during covid-19:

quarantine guide

1.
daily meditation

This one is non-negotiable for me.

I know to some of you this sounds all woo-woo and next level weird.

Hear me out, there are studies that can scientifically back the benefits of meditation:

– Stress + anxiety reduction
– Lengthen’s attention span
– Promotes positive emotional health
– Improves sleep
– Helps control pain
– Can decrease blood pressure

Here’s some FREE apps to get you stared:

Not into meditating?

Start a gratitude journal, here’s some of my favorites.

2.
start a virtual yoga practice

virtual yoga class

Moving out the stagnant anxious energy is so important right now.

That’s why I drop into my favorite VIRTUAL yoga studio, Sojourn Healing Collective.

They offer LIVE classes for yoga, meditation, breathwork, and much more.

I LOVE the community of attending a live class! It’s nice to connect with other people during quarantine. No pressure to leave your video on while we practice though.

3.
limit screen time

Looking at a screen all day can increase depression and anxiety, and induce headaches and eye strains. No one wants any of that.

That’s why I installed an app on my phone that only allows me a specific amount of minutes on social media per hour.

It even has a timed feather to completely lock me out of my phone so I can really get some focused time in. I love it!

Find a way to get productive or channel a creative outlet instead.

Your eyes and mental health will thank you!

4.
plan nourishing meals

I’ve been OBSESSED with the Plan to Eat meal planning tool for 3 years now.

I have used it every week to plan our meals and I’m never going back. Think of it as Pinterest with a calendar feature.  YEAH, it’s that good!

Plus, you can add me as a friend, and you can have access to over 500 of my favorite recipes! If you need step by step instructions of how I use the app, check them out here.

5.
avoid the grocery store

I have been a weekly customer from Imperfect foods for a few years now.

They take all of the foods deemed “not good enough” for the grocery store and sell it to us for a discounted price!

Why I love them for quarantine: It eliminates touch points. The food goes from the farmer, to Imperfect for packing and straight to your doorstep.

Why You’ll love them: Sometimes the flaws are things like “item too big” and I end up with gigantic squash or avocados. I don’t know why that’s a bad thing, but sure, send them my way!!

They carry much more than produce too! You’ll find dry goods like rices and legumes in addition to healthy snack options like, nuts, dried mango, and protein bars.

Imperfect is different than many other farmers market boxes because each week you get to select exactly what you want in your box, no surprises here!

Plus you’re helping the earth by saving food from going to the landfill.

6.
get healthy meals delivered

Getting tired of making your own meals but want to keep things fresh and healthy?

That’s where Daily Harvest comes into play!

Find everything from lattes, to breakfast, to dinner.

Bonus, they’re ready in minutes. It’s the healthiest 5 min meal you can make for yourself with minimal effort. Trust me, these things are good to have laying around!

7.
connect with loved ones

As human beings we crave connection and isolation can make us feel a little bit less human.

There’s so many ways to connect, but here are some of my favorites…

Instagram Video calling
> Marco Polo Video Messaging
> Zoom Conferencing
> House Party App

It’s important to connect via video and feel as though you’re physically together.
Schedule dinner dates, talk, laugh, and cheers just like you would if you were out at dinner.

8.
create a routine

planner

This one is HUGE!

If I stop following my routine for even just a few days,  my mental health takes a turn for the worst and all the days start blurring together. I’m sure many of you know what I’m talking about here.

Every morning after I write in my gratitude journal, I open up my Google calendar app and start blocking our how I am going to spend my day.

Use a day planner, a pen and paper list, Google calendar, Asana or whatever works for you.

Doesn’t matter how you do this, just find a way to put yourself on some kind of schedule.

Make sure you put in relaxation and self care!

✔️

9.
prioritize self care

Whatever relaxes you, make time for it!

These are some of my favorite ways to wind down…

> View the Coloring books I LOVE

> View my favorite items to create the most relaxing bath ever!

View the Teas I can’t live without
