Homemade Nutmilk in Under 5 Minutes!
It’s tough to find a high-quality plant-based milk out there, might as well make it at home.
There are only a few brands of plant-based milk that I purchase from the store. For me, the real VIP out there is Elmhurst’s 3 Ingredient Oat Milk or their 2 Ingredient Cashew Milk. This can add up quickly and take up a lot of my grocery budget.
So, in times like these when we are all trying to save a little money, it’s time to start making vegan milk at home.
There are a lot of recipes out there but many require straining or soaking, and those two steps alone can stop me from making it. That’s why I started making the no-strain nut milk method. Yes, that’s right, no straining, no messy clean up, and you’ll have smooth plant-based milk in under 5 minutes.
Making plant-based milk at home is a quick and easy way to save money and have control over the ingredients that go into your milk. Plus, you can experiment with different nut butters and sweeteners to find your perfect blend, yum

Recipe
Easy Vegan Milk (no straining required)
Ingredients
- 3-4 Cups of Filtered Water
- 1 Heaping TBS Nut Butter
- 1 Medjool Date (optional)
Instructions
- Start by combining 3-4 cups of filtered water, 1 heaping tablespoon of nut butter, and a pinch of salt in a blender. I prefer to use unsweetened nut butter and add a Medjool date for a light touch of sweetness, but you can skip the date if you prefer a nonsweet milk.
- Next, blend everything together until the date is fully incorporated. I like to use cashew butter because it froths really well in my morning drinks, but you can use peanut butter or any other nut butter that you like.
- Once everything is well-blended, transfer the milk to a container and store it in the refrigerator for up to five days.
That’s it! You now have homemade plant-based milk that is ready to use in your favorite recipes or as a refreshing drink on its own.
